I Won’t Look Back

So often times it happens that we live our lives in chains
And we never even know we have the keyAlready Gone, by Jack Tempchin, Robb Strandlund

Oh yes, it’s true, I’ve up and gone
And you may never ask me why
But now I’m clear, and face the dawn
The toxic ways must surely die

It’s true, in time you will forget
The memories, both bad and good
And I will surely not regret
The times I was misunderstood

A moment now to let me feel
The consequences of this act
Just know, in time, that I will heal
Emerge much stronger, that’s a fact

Just know this now: I won’t look back
