A Dog’s Face

I look into a dog’s eyes
And find there, a furry face
That’s friendly and fun-loving
Sometimes foolhardy, fearless

An expression that’s lively
With a limpid, loving gaze
But sometimes there’s a longing
A heavy heart that’s cheerless

Yet when all is said and done
Here’s the face of a puppy
Unpretentious and passive
Peppy, private, and peerless

  1. Dogs are so innocent and have their own way of communicating need, and its lovable. They reciprocate attention and it moves the heart.
