Ode To A Water Heater

This humorous poem was first written in 2011, when my water heater died. I decided to vent my frustration by writing this little trifle. Apparently, that was enough poetry I needed to write until December 2017. And I’m still at it…

There you stand, so round and tall
Lone against a dim gray wall

Broken heap that lulled before
Rest in peace, forevermore

Saved by plumber handy-man
Brand new heater, that’s the plan

Keep your pilot light aflame
Water, hot, is now your claim
