I’m Walking

With apologies to Stacey and her excellent suggestion about soul connections (which will be my next blog post), I had a sudden inspiration about walking and journeys. I previewed a draft version of this poem to my email subscribers, who get exclusive content and previews of future blog posts. “A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step”
from Chapter 64 of the Tao Te Ching

Since time immemorial
We have walked
To hunt for food
To sow the fertile land
To return to hearth and home

…but we all walk our paths

I’m walking this path
For justice and nobility
For vigor and exuberance
For discovery and wisdom
Sometimes, just for the journey

…where will it lead?

Come wander with me
My brothers and sisters
Let’s uncover the secrets
And share in the delights
Our paths my diverge

…but I’ll be walking, still
